"Our Purpose Is To Serve"
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

The Order of the Eastern Star was designed to serve among women the same purpose as that of Free Masonry among men, and to provide the Free Masons with cooperation of women kindred without accepting them into the Lodge. The principles are personified by five stories of women taken from the Bible. They are fidelity, obedience, loyalty, truth and heroic endurance personified by Adah, Ruth, Esther, Martha and Electa.
The Order of the Eastern Star is a social order comprised of persons with Christian beliefs and principles but it is not a religion. Its appeal rests in the true beauty of the refreshing and character-building lessons that are so sincerely portrayed in its ritualistic work. A deep fraternal bond exists between its members. It is the wholesome relationship of sisterly and brotherly love brought about through high principals exemplified in our lives which make us near and dear to each other.
The purpose of this site is twofold. One, we hope to be able to help those who have an interest in the Order of the Eastern Star find out more about it and how to join. Two, for our members, we're here to help and give you additional resources for information.
Serenity #175 was re-charted in February 2009 by Sis. Tracee Johnson, Sis. Tawanna Green-Edmond, Sis. Andrea Ward, Sis. Antawanna Lemons, Sis. Avis Adams, Sis. Charlena Green-Adams, Sis. Eboni Brown, Sis. Erin Swinney, Sis. Jamise Dames, Sis. Jennifer Lake, Sis. Jessica Williams, Sis. LaDonna Johnson, Sis. Tammi Vaughn, Sis. Cheronda Battle.
These 14 individuals came together as one to revitalize Serenity #175. Since that time Serenity #175 has grown in membership. We strive to posses all that O.E.S. represents by giving faithfully to those in need. Our charitable works speak strongly about the women we are and desire to be. It is our desire to build a strong chapter of women who give selflessly to others and encourage one another in all aspects of life.
We desire to be an example to women all around that shows how persons from different backgrounds and walks of life can come together and build relationships that last and perform awesome tasks together. Creating rippling effects that spread throughout all those we impact and touch.
It is our desire to SERVE !
The SisStars of Serenity #175 would like to thank you for stopping by our site. It is our prayer that this site is both informative and inspirational.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Feedings
Feeding the Homeless
Brown Bag Initiative was developed by the beautiful sisters of Serenity #175 in 2009. We made over 200 Papersack lunches and delivered them to the men, women and children within the Metro Atlanta Area who are homeless and hungry.
We have since expanded those meals to hot breakfasts and other types of hot lunches. Along with providing a meals we worked to also provide toiletries and clothing items. We seek to continue this activity and to be a light of inspiration to those whom we impact.
Holiday Service
Serenity in conjuction with Hugs Ministry, other Chapters and Lodges within International distributed 200 toiletry packages, toys, clothes and food to the individuals living at the Gateway Center. The Gateway Center works to end homelessness by providing support and framework people need to achieve self-sufficiency.
Serenity volunteered at Lordstroms sponsored by Zion Hill CDC. The celebration consisted of the main attraction of Toyland. The rooms, separated by gender, were filled with playthings that each child could choose to their liking. The event also included pictures with Santa, ornament making, and a small lunch. We even got our picture in the AJC !!!
Community Outreach
The members of Serenity 175 give back to the community in a variety of ways both locally and internationally. Serenity proudly sponsors a young girl in Africa through World Vision.
Valentine's Day is normally kicked off with showing love to residents at The Gardens at Sandy Springs Assisted Living Facility. We provide hand massages, nail polishing, and candy treats for those desiring residents.
Volunteering at St. Francis' Table where their purpose is to provide nourishment and suport to those in need was such a fulfilling experience.
In 2011 International F & AM Mason and Order of the Eastern Star participated in the MLK Day parade where Serenity was able to show our community our beautiful light.
